We rented a villa adapted for wheelchair-accessible cottages in Hua Hin , the capital of the Hua Hin district in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan in Thailand . Originally called Hua Hin Baan Somoe Rieng or Baan Laem Hin (Stony Point Village). Hua Hin is one of the most popular resorts in Thailand, it is located on the Gulf of Thailand . The Thai king has a palace where he often retreats. The site is located approximately 280 kilometers southwest of Bangkok .

The eight-kilometer long beach of Hua Hin has a reputation as "the famous resort resort of
Siam " where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and golf. To this day the city is visited today by the rich from Bangkok and throughout Thailand and have a second home. The growth of Hua Hin only began in earnest with the arrival of the Railway Hotel (now Hotel Centara ) after the Southern line was ready. The same hotel was used during the film "The Killing Fields."

Hua Hin is a bustling fishing town, therefore there are many seafood restaurants and stalls. There are many restaurants and to find Hua Hin with a wide range of food. Fish is supplied daily by small fishing boats that night sailing by day and lying in the harbor. There is also the Hua Hin Night Market to Dechanuchit Road.

There are also large shopping centers such as
Hua Hin Market Village and Bluport Hua Hin Resort Mall where you'll find dozens of shops, restaurants and other catering outlets under one roof.

Things to do in and around Hua Hin
Khao Tekiab , a mountain at the end of the beach, on top of the mountain is a temple. This gives a nice view over the beach.
National Park Khao Som Roi Yot The most beautiful bird nature reserve of Thailand.
Kaeng Krachan , one of Thailand's largest national parks.
Khao Hin Lek Fai , a mountain just outside the center. From the mountain there is a nice view of the city. There is also a park with all kinds of plants and trees.
Ratchaniwet Marukhathaiyawan Palace or the Palace of Hope and Love. This palace is located between Hua Hin and Cha Am . It was built in 1923 by King Rama V and is in large part made of wood.

Hua Hin is accessible by bus, car, train and plane. From Bangkok with daily departures from the southern bus terminal. A bus ride takes about 3.5 hours to reach Hua Hin. Also, trains leave daily. North of Hua Hin, just outside Hua Hin Center, is the
Hua Hin Airport .
